Thompson Crack Repair Cleat
Fix a cracked guitar top without hampering the tone
Thin, strong wood patches for gluing cracks shut. These cleats are the heart of T.J. Thompson's Top Crack Corrector.
Feather-thin and flexible, these cleats are light and responsive like the soundboard itself. The rounded tops taper down to nothing at the edges, and the grain is cut crosswise—making them strong for gluing cracks.
T.J. Thompson, famous for restoring vintage Martins, manufactures these cleats to use in his own shop. They’re shaped to fit the acrylic cauls of his Top Crack Corrector.
Available in Spruce, Indian Rosewood or Mahogany for repairs on Martins, Gibsons and other acoustic guitars.
