Single-coil bite with more punch
Single-coils have a wonderful sound that is bright and clear, but sometimes it's just too harsh. That's where these fat pole pickups shine. The large polepieces capture more of the string vibration, smoothing out the tone, giving the guitar a fuller, more even response across the strings.
The large Alnico 5 magnets round out the treble and bass frequencies for a bolder, more vibrant tone. And they pack a massive mid-range punch! It's just right for beautiful cleans and overdriven sounds that don't get muddy.
They're custom-wound for each position for a balanced tone. The middle-position pickups are reverse wound, reverse polarity, for hum cancellation at the #2 and #4 switch positions.
