Waverly High Ratio Guitar Tuners with Butterbean Knobs for Solid Pegheads
New 20:1 gear ratio
For decades, Waverly tuners have been the standard by which all other tuners are measured. We now offer our flagship tuners with a 20:1 gear ratio option for more precise tuning control.
When you want the best of classic design and expert craftsmanship, these premium hand made Waverly tuners are what you've been searching for.
Nothing is a better sign of quality than a guitar that stays in tune right from the very first strum. And if you're the type of player who sweats all the details, you'll love the responsiveness and ability to dial in your tuning with extreme precision.
Mastercrafted for precision
Best of all, Waverly tuners are built to last. We assemble each set in our Ohio shop, and if they ever fail, they're backed by our Lifetime Promise. No other tuner comes with this dependability. This timeless design, rock-solid construction, and smooth, reliable operation have made Waverly tuners the favorite of both musicians and renowned guitarmakers for more than 100 years.
Why choose Waverly high ratio tuners?
Drop-in replacement design
If your guitar already has Waverly tuners, upgrading to the high ratio models is a 5-minute job anyone can do. They literally drop right in. No drilling is required.
Smoother tuning with no backlash
With tight tolerances and expert machining, the simple open-back mechanism has a smooth, responsive feel with no backlash. Tuning up or down is smooth, accurate, and easy.
Longer life with less wear
Waverly uses only the highest quality materials for every part of the tuner. The stainless steel and machined bronze alloy gears are more durable than standard quality tuners.
Timeless design details
Waverly tuners represent the pinnacle in clean, elegant design. The solid brass "Butterbean" knob (a description coined by the late Martin historian Mike Longworth) and the footprint are the same as the fabled pre-war Martin's. These tuners are as visually striking on a herringbone dreadnought as they are a modern electric masterpiece.
Premium plating and elegant style
Each Waverly tuning machine features high quality plating for a lifetime of beauty and dependability. Choose the perfect aesthetic for your instrument:
Nickel: our most popular plating, and the classic bright and shiny look used on guitars for decades
Relic Nickel: a perfect upgrade for cranky old tuners, the relic finish looks right at home on a well-loved vintage guitar but with improved tuning stability
Gold: a touch of class reserved for the finest custom-shop creations and treasured heirlooms
Titanium: an extremely durable plating that is resistant to tarnishing and wear—it will keep its luster for decades to come

Slot-head mounting screws complete the vintage look; there are no additional holes to drill on many older Martins and Gibsons.
Installation tips
Counterbore for a perfect fit
Counterboring the pegholes with our #2062 Bushing Reamer (.340" diameter) allows for a perfect, clean and professional installation.
Drill pilot hole for mounting screws
Installing delicate screws into hardwood requires great care and accuracy, so pilot holes are required. We highly recommend the #1712 Depth-stop Drill Bit (5/64" bit) for the pilot hole before installing these screws. Lubricate the screw threads with cutting lubricant (wax or a bar of soap work too) to reduce friction and help them thread properly.
Post holes too big? Use conversion bushings
Conversion peghead bushings are also available for retrofitting Waverly's into larger holes left by other tuners with no drilling. A StewMac exclusive!
