Get a matching heel block
Many acoustic and archtop builders choose to build their necks by gluing a separate heel block onto a thinner neck blank rather than cutting a "one piece" neck. This adds strength and cuts down on waste. We carry matching Honduran Mahogany Heel Block Blanks for our Honduran Mahogany necks. For longer neck blanks (36” or longer) there is enough material to create a stacked heel, and purchasing a separate heel block is not required. Billets have enough material to cut a one piece neck.
Our instructions "Neck Construction Tips and Techniques" include tips for adding headstock "ears," routing for a truss rod, laminating a classical guitar heel, and more.
