Maple Electric Guitar Neck Blanks
Build your neck from top quality maple! Cut right in our Ohio mill, these blanks are ready to use for your next project.
Used by Fender and countless other makers for decades, Rock Maple (Acer saccharum) is ideal for building necks. Strong and straight, each AAA piece is planed and ready for you to begin your build.
The 1" thick blanks make it easy to make the classic 1-piece Fender-style neck without an attached fingerboard if you choose. The 13/16" thick blanks are designed to have a separate fingerboard attached after construction of the neck.
More than just electric guitar
We have a wide variety of different size neck blanks to accommodate nearly any project you can dream of. From electric guitar, archtop, bass, and even banjo—we’ve got the perfect blank to craft your custom neck.
Hard Maple works well with hand and power tools—routed edges stay crisp and sharp. It also accepts glues, stains, and finishes with ease and does not require grain filler.

Get a matching heel block
Many acoustic and archtop builders choose to build their necks by gluing a separate heel block onto a thinner neck blank rather than cutting a "one piece" neck. This adds strength and cuts down on waste. We carry matching maple Heel Block Blanks for our maple necks. For longer neck blanks (36" or longer) there is enough material to create a stacked heel, and purchasing a separate heel block is not required.
Our instructions "Neck Construction Tips and Techniques" include tips for adding headstock "ears", routing for a truss rod, laminating a classical guitar heel, and more.
Get the perfect neck shape
Our Neck Shaping Templates are meticulously reproduced from some of the greatest acoustic and electric guitars ever made. We also have shaping templates for basses, banjos, and mandolins too.
