Rob Cunningham: NYXL guitar strings can be bent further and take greater abuse all while staying in tune better than any string on the market. Normally, the plane steels are about 60% of their breaking strength. Now, if you take your high E and bend it up two hole steps, you're up to about 90% now on standard strings and really risking your performance [on-screen text reads: Higher Breaking Point].
Re-engineered high carbon steel
Through a combination of precision engineering and the most advanced wire drawing machinery in the world [on-screen text reads: Unparalleled Strength - E/.010 string/size is 23% stronger and B/.013 string/size is 42% stronger than the standard string], we were able to increase the breaking threshold of NYXL's. This provides a greater range of bending and gives to player more confidence that his strings are not going to break.
Additionally, improvements in the string manufacturing process increases the stability of the string [on-screen text reads: Unmatched Pitch Stability]. This allows them to stay in tune longer, allows quicker break in time, and you don't have to tune as often.
Re-formatted nickel-plated steel
D'Addario invented nickel plated steel wire for wound strings, the industry standard for more than four decades now. We know great guitar tone. Our engineers have reformulated the nickel plated of steel wire into NYXL to have greater magnetic permeability. This allows the string to interact more dynamically and responsibly with the pickups without changing the fundamental sound that electric guitarists love and have grown accustomed to.
Many recording engineers will boost their frequencies into one to the 3.5K region [on-screen text reads: Enhanced output]. This allows your guitar to cut through a mix. These strings have that frequency bump built right in. Your guitar will be heard, you'll cut through without actually having to be louder.
